Hello, do you feel the same thing?

Good evening. My name is Mourad (friends call me Momo) 27 y.o. in about a month. And im new to this site. I am from Montreal. This is my second cycle of my life. I had my first Cluster headache 5 years ago around the same time as this year and thats when i was diagnosed. i am been also an alcoholic for about 4 years now drinking every night up to 8 beers while gaming. I stopped drinking about 10 days now (not a drop) i am going through withrawal right now, its hard, but my headaches are alot less frequent.

this year they started around the 4th of july ( I dont really remembre the exact date) the first one woke me up during the night 2/3 am the second one aswell, 3,4,5th time i was drinking session but around 10pm. Thats when i stopped drinking and that when they started to become less frequent but never on same time of the day. Some where strong ( with right eye closing and tearing right nostral blocked) and some were like 6/7ish in pain but not acompanied buy the eye and nostrel syndroms.

My last HA was 3 days ago (pain but no nostrel block or eye tearing)

I have a question. When ever i am not having a HA i have this weird/unconfortable sensation in the spots where the pain usually accors and its not pain. Is this normal?

Can anybody help?

P.S. Doctor prescible Maxalt tablets the first cycle and when i saw another doc this year he gave me Imitrex Nasal Spay 20mg. But i never took either one of them cuz i am a girl thingy and am too scared to take them cause of side effect on the paper and i heard they are bad if u r a smoker (i smoke both tabacco and weed)

Hi There!
I get similar sensations. It is difficult not to worry about those things so I would see a doctor for reassurance.

Hi Momo, and welcome,
I would suggest you seek out a Headache Specialist to get a true diagnosis, In the meantime take the cluster quiz just to see where you sit. The link is to your left on this page.

Good to read that you're working to get off alcohol; it's really incompatible with Cluster.

Agree with the suggestion that you find a headache specialist to work with. Many good docs just don't have training/experience with Cluster and the fact that our doc has not prescribed a preventive med suggests some limited experence.

Alcochol in any form/amount acts as a tribber for Cluster attacks--so keep dry!

Print the article below, and share with you current doc (een as you seek a specialist, I hope). Use the article to discuss opions.

You should be on: a med to quickly block  a Cluster, taken at the FIRST sign of an attack; along with a longer acting med to suppress attacks (first works quickly, the second is a longer acting drug with the same purpose). Third, is a med which prevents attacks. So, one to get rapid relief, the last to "build" in long term preventon.

PLEASE, this self-judgment about what drugs are not safet, etc. is out of your league: this is why we want a skilled doc to treat us--to be the guide. IF you have concerns about a drugs side-effects-you discuss with the doc, not keep him the the dark.

Stay in tough!!
