Fever and 10kp hit
Jan 30th, 2017 at 1:36am

I had the worst experience Fri night wondering if anyone has had this happen. Friday night was exhausted from cleaning my house. I sat down to take a break and I started freezing to the point that I tensed up whole body for about an hour...had upset stomach, and started to get HA and my head got so hot I new I was getting a fever. O2 didn't work, took rizatriptan and it was the worst hour I actually thought I would have my husband call an ambulance. He got me wet wash cloths and helped me through it....I ended up with a low grade fever 101.3 and so much pressure in my head after that I woke up in morning and said well I'm still alive! My fever lasted rest of day and head pressure also Sunday almost normal. Could it have done damage?? My family doctor will not get this and I don't have a neurologist right now. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this. Thoughts.. It was worse than any ha I ever had since these started over 10 years ago. Thanks Cry

Hi,
Because the fever lasted much longer than the HA, my guess is - you caught a bug which gave you the fever and the pressure in your head, especially as you felt cold to start with,  and this triggered the CH.  Also it's well known that hard physical work and excersize can also be a trigger.
Just a guess though.

I'd be thinking along the same lines as Maz with the fever bumping your temperature which kicked off the CH. But that is very much a guess as to what the mechanism could be.

If it happens again, i.e. it's a change from your usual CH experience then I'd look to see your doctor to investigate further. Or if you're still concerned, see one anyway.
