Enough already!
The Board meeting at convention was legal and according to Robert's Rules. The Officers of OUCH ARE indeed BOD members according to the Bylaws and Robert's Rules of Order (Todd read ALL the Bylaws). There was a quorom present and all votes were legal.

John Gram spoke on the subject of why we're not getting anywhere any faster than we are and this is the reason - we spend too much time bickering on the "small stuff" and the whys and who's right and who did what and all that. There has to be some body to make the decisions from members input. The BOD is that body. Yet when they make a decision, there's always someone who wants to get things stirred up and tear it apart and start a big stink and no wonder nothing gets done.

We're all excited about getting something done since convention - let's not let negativity drag us down. Vancouver has been named convention site for 2002. Now 2003 is open for grabs. If you want your hometown for then start bringing up it's good points and get it out in the open. Start selling it NOW - not AFTER the fact. But let's don't argue it after 2003 has already been decided.

Also at the BOD meeting, it was voted to get an online store opened - DJ has been working on that and so have several others, Ted is working on a newsletter (how many have been sending him material for that? - he needs a graphics editor) Leesa is working on membership and has a contest going on. My word there's enough going on right now. Why are we arguing on mundane things when we could all be doing something to make OUCH "take off" instead of bog down? After all isn't that the idea of the organization?

Another clarification: Our legal counsel is going back over our Bylaws and will be offering suggestions to clarify them so these questions will NEVER get brought up again. But according to him, the BOD meeting at convention was legal and stands as held and the votes remain. So that's the end to the matter.

Now let's get on to some "fun" stuff and get the ball rolling with OUCH.

Barbara D.
