My headaches were not responding to the meds I was on, so I went last Friday (5/30) and got a script for Verapamil 240 mgs and Imitrex 50mg. I doubled the dosage on the Verapamil to 480, and it seems to be working well...but I am very large (6'3", 285 lbs), and I seem to tolerate the dosage well. Last night I even took a drink to test whether the episode had completely abated, and discovered that I was still susceptable to alcohol-induced headaches. An Imitrex aborted fairly quickly.
