Having had migraines (MH) for 20 yrs followed by CH for the next 20, I have never had aurae except
once with CH. During this current bout, about a week before it started, I got a classical MH aura not followed by any headache. First one I'd seen for 15 yrs. MH causes half vision, aurae, sensitivity to light. Print can appear to fall off a page during the aural intro, which preceeds the MH by about % mins, a good warning. CH only causes lacrimatiom of the affected side in my case. Oh! and, of course, a certain amont of blinding pain and eye stabbing.MH lasts 4-12 hrs versus a typical 30 mins for me.
