I used Maxalt some time ago and it didn't help. Just got my scrip filled and if I get to it just as a HA starts, it seems to be working now.
But when the pain gets bad I go back to Cafagot (ergotomine). It may not be that great for me, but I don't do pain well -never have and will do anything to relieve it.
Guess you should follow your doc's advice, but he's not the one who has to hurt like hell.
