FYI I've been "discussing" with my health insurance company, the restrictions on the amount and frequency of Imitrex injections they will cover. They, like other ins. co's want to treat Clusters like migraines.
My doctor contacted GlaxoWellcome and had them overnight express the latest info on the meds. She gave the documents to me and I have just provided them to the insurance carrier. In addition, I sent them an abstract of the Cluster Headache description, etc. from the beginning of the material on this site, under Medical Information. They were most appreciative of the data (seems they are not familiar with Cluster, at least not very).
Hopefully, they will allow sufficient refills of the meds to get me, and others insured by them who suffer from Cluster, through the annual bouts.
I'll keep you posted on the outcome. Every little bit of exposure helps.
