Definition of "shadows"?

Under my "normal" pattern, I should have been out of my cluster about three months ago, but I'm still getting relatively mild twinges twice a day that feel like the beginning of an onsluaght, but which then go away in about five minutes.
I'm not on any medication, as the exact same routine occurred when I was taking verapamil 120x2. I"m really really really (that's the drummer influence, sorry) afraid that I'm becoming chronic, but don't know whether these are, again, "normal" shadows, or whether the demon is still very much there, but just as virulent -- as if it's resting, but not gone.
So, can anyone hone the definition of "shadows" for me, based on your own experience? I guess I could put this to the test with a drink, but that might throw me right back into the inferno. I realize there are no answers here; I'm just wondering if there's any insight.
Thanks in advance, and better days ahead.
Ken
