A month ago I started taking Imitrix tablets 50mg . My neurologist told me I could take up to 3 a day (2 hours apart each). I was told to take one and if that helped some but not completely or if it got rid of it but it comes back to take a second pill 2 hrs. later. Then if I get some relief and/or it comes back I can take a third dose 2 hours latter. I am not to exceed 3 pills in 24 hrs. (150mg a day).
She knows I am chronic and get these daily so she said I could take 3 a day every day if needed. The catch here is I was also given oxygen and told to try that first and only take the imitrix if the oxygen doesn't work.
I noticed on the insert also that it said the saftey wasn't tested for more than 4 doses a month. I have an apt. to see my neuro on Fri. and plan on bringing this up. I also noted that you can take up to 300 mg a day in 100mg doses but it said it wasn't proven any more effective than the 50mg dose.
I took 5 doses in 3 days last week and it worked ok and I didn't notice any side effects or immediate harm from it.
I'll let you know what my dr. response is friday night.
