I wanted to introduce myself to this group, which I've
just found. I've had clusters almost all my life--
starting at age 14, and now I'm 51. Major, total
bummer (not the age--the clusters). For many years, my headaches were misdiagnosed.
Since I'm a woman, I couldn't have clusters, right? They
must be migraines. So for years I didn't get the
proper treatment. My episodes come every 2 years, for
1 month. I just started my current episode last week,
and had my first terrible night last night. I have an
oxygen tank, but noticed that for the last 2 episodes,
oxygen hasn't been as helpful as in the past. Also,
I just started on Prednisone. I've used this for a few
years, and it's been my miracle drug. But last episode,
it wasn't quite as helpful. I'm terrified that it's
losing its efficacy. Yikes! Then what? I suppose
Imitrex nasal spray (I'm too chicken for the injection.)
I was feeling so down in the dumps today before I
logged on to this site. It does help to know that others
are in this same crappy boat. Thanks so much to the person
(DJ?) who set up this site.
