I need to know if anyone has any documented instances of bloodpressure going up prior to cluster attack. I am beginning to believe it happens to me.
A few facts..at this point I've just started the second week of prednisone therapy, and due to the current frequency of attacks, I've had way too much Zomig (a vasoconstrictor). Anyway, after 69 pain free hours over the weekend, I had two on Monday, 17 hrs apart. The last one over before 10 PM, and I had taken Zomig, so I slept well and got up feeling well, between 4 and 5 AM. Went on to the office on regular schedule and around 9 am began to feel "out of it" so called our safety man and asked if he came my way to bring a bp cuff. He came right away and I checked 170/78. I usually run apprx 130/80. He said lets give it a few minutes, so we did...got 168/78. I called my Dr.s office and described situation, adding that I felt a need to lie down. She said do it...so I left the office...no place there...drove to the park and lay down on the seat of my pickup for about 30 minutes. Felt a little better, and decided I wasn't up to the office, but could make the 17 mile drive home. When I got home around 11 am, I did lie down, and shortly before noon I think, I fell asleep. About 45 minutes later the cluster attack woke me. From all this, I am becoming convinced that a rise in bp is a prelude to an attack.
Sorry for the length, felt a need to be precise. Does anyone have any similar experience, or information along this line? If so, please share. Thanks!
Take care of yourselves !! Margaret
