Maybe you misread the drug info on Trazodone.

Trazodone is an "SSRI," Selective Serotonin ReUptake
Inhibitor. An SSRI PROMOTES transmission of neural
impulses along pathways which use the neurotransmitter
Serotonin (5-HT.) The drug inhibits RE-UPTAKE of 5-HT,
NOT the "production" or action of 5-HT.

Another term for Trazodone is "Serotonin Agonist,"
which defines a drug which combines with a cell receptor
to INITIATE a reaction...not inhibit it.

Indeed, drugs that work for some of us will not work for
others. But Trazodone has shown promise in the prophylaxis
of CH initiated during REM (Stage 5) sleep.

Try it...you might be surprised.
