Watch out in Japan

My job requires that I take periodic trips to Tokyo.
Two years ago, I was in the midst of a c/h cycle. I
thought that I had stocked up on enough imitrex to last
me 4-5 days. I think that the stress of flying halfway
around the world and meetings, etc. caused my headache
frequency to greatly increase and I used up my injections
too quickly. I made an appointment with the hotel
doctor and explained about imitrex. He informed me
that this med was not approved for Japan, and gave me
a prescription for cafergot (never worked for me).
I had to cut short my trip, and just made it home alive.

I have to go again in October, so I Emailed Glaxo-
Wellcome to find out if imitrex has been approved for
Japan. IT HAS NOT. I am going to figure on three
shots per day and take over a ton of shots. This is
expensive, but nothing compared with being caught short.

Also, its a good idea to contact G-W if you have to go
overseas, just to see if the imitrex (or whatever works
for you) is available. Their Email address is

feedback@glaxowellcome.co.uk

All the best

Rick
