Having had daily headaches for 25 years, I know how disabling they can be. I have been a patient at the Michigan Headache and Neuological Instute for 12 years. It was the best thing I ever did. The only things these wonderful doctors treat are headache suffers. They have an inpatient program at a nearby hosipital that is used when headaches are really out of control.

This is one of the top three, if not the TOP headache center in the US. It is is Ann Arbor Michigan. The phone number is 734 677 6000.

To address your question about cafergot, yes the body does build up a tolerance to the medicine and the user has to take more to get the same effect. One of the first things I learned at MHNI was that certain meds should only be used 3 days a week to prevent rebound headaches from occuring. Rebound headaches are when the body needs more and more of a drug to produce the same effect because the body shuts down production of its natural pain killers. So you need more and more of the drug to get the same effect.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
