Greetings to you all.
I have had clusters since 1985 during my stay in the USMC.
Lucky for me since the VA pays for everything. It took the
doctors only 10 years to tell me they were clusters &
then finally perscribed Imitrex injection. IAM having
another one right now but is only about a level FIVE.
My "HOT water on the pain trick" worked for about an hour
& I have been holding off on using my LAST dose.
I get them now about every three to four months & they
last for about 4 to 6 weeks. I just got back from the
vacation from hell twice. I ran out of Imitrex on the third day
& then hurt my back on the last day & had to ride back in
the car for 8 hours!!!!
It's nice to know IAM not the only one.
the only thing my doctors ever told me about cluster headaches
is that they don't know what the cause or cure is but
that it hurts alot. (NO KIDDING DOC'S!) The one time I
had a brain scan, the main computer crashed & gave an
error message of, "can not interpret (SP) data".
oh well, I HATE this pain so I have to go take my last dose
until my next shipment from the VA in two weeks.
They REALLY stick to the maximum dosages. Probably a
good thing too because I would take a shot for every attack.
remember this: - there is no pain on the other side of here
& someday we will be there but we MUST NOT get there by
taking our own life. Yes I have thought about that ALOT.
see you in your dreams - just ask for Nimlock.
