I have the deepest sympathy for you and your problems. Mental anguish is very real and painful but to associate past problems and unresolved anger with cluster headaches is a bit much for me.

Medicine is full of this sort of nonsense. They used to say that ulcers were caused by stress and tension, only to discover that a simple virus was the root cause. Autism, schizophrenia, and other mental illnesses were thought to be the result of unloving mothers - what a bunch of nonsense.

I had wonderful and very imperfect parents. I blame them for nothing. Part of growing up includes forgiving our parents and realizing that life is what we make of it.

Please tell your psychiatrist that I said he is way out of line if he is suggesting that your clusters are a result of your childhood. Clusters are physiological and not pyschosomatic.

I wish you the best in resolving both your clusters and your psychological problems but I think you need to know that your parents did not give you clusters. Your psychiatrist is nuts!
