I've plowed thru a couple studies -

INCLUDING THE GREAT INFO ON DJ's MEDICAL INFO LINK TO THE LEFT< BTW
READ THAT STUFF FOLKS< IT"S TREMENDOUS !!

anyway -
tests have been done that show highly altered levels of testosterone during CH periods

(remember, BOTH sexes have testosterone, despite all the jokes)

PLUS - nearly all bodily activity involves hormonal facilitation one way or the other

this is NOT a crazy topic

BUT - I am highly suspicious of the notion that any event that alters gender-related hormones CAUSES CH - I would be more inclined to favor the idea that in an individual who is already predisposed to CH, any number of factors could "activate" it, or aggravate it if it is already manifest
