I have both CH and ADHD. I used to only take Adderall when
I thought I would need to concentrate and sit still, but
lately I have noticed that when I take an Adderall, I don't
get headaches--even if I am in a strong cycle. The Adderall
last in my system for about 4 hours and if I am in a cycle,
within an hour of the medicine wearing off I get a headache.
I love the fact that while on it I am headache free, but
the problem with Adderall is that I can't sleep while on it.
I have to make sure my last dose is no later than 5:00 pm or
I will be up all night.

The second discovery I have made is Melatonin. Since I saw
the research out of England that suggest that CH people
have abnormalities in the portion of the brain that controls
the body clock I started thinking. I have always know that
a cluster for me starts after several days of little to no
sleep. I am now taking a half of a Melatonin before bed
everynight and my clusters have almost been cut in half as
far as frequncey. When a cluster does start I take whole tablet
and it helps from being awakened by the attack. I have now tried
this on two cluster occasions and after two days of taking
the whole melatonin, my cluster stops.

Just thought I'd share--I am always trying new things to make
this problem disappear. Let me know if you have any success with
the Melatonin.
