The others are right. The doc should be able to work with your dad's headaches and heart condition to find something that works and is also safe. Verapamil comes to mind. It is used to treat high blood pressure and is also effective in stopping clusters for a number of people.
PS: My daughters have watched me fight this disease for their entire lifes. They are angels and I'm sure your dad feels the same about you.
