My husband has been suffering from cluster headaches for about 4 years now, and has been on several medications etc... What I need to know from sufferers and sufferees (spouses, life parterners, etc...) is do we sit idlely by and let them suffer and then sleep because we all know that there's nothing we can do, or do we encourage them to be interactive with the people around them after the epicenter of the cluster? My husband is in the military and after his last deployment the headaches started upon his return. He really hasen't spent an honest hour with his son all summer. And when he does it's so forced (by me) that they cannot engage in any type of positive playtime. My son is three and he is really having a hard time readjusting to his father because he always so short with him, and has nothing really positive to say. He'd rather sleep the day away until another headache comes on, and then sleep some more after it's over. He's always resentful if I ask him to do the smallest of things as if I'm interupting his "special" sleep time, like he doesn't get enough, and he seems to want to just lounge around the house and not really do much of anything. My one year old daughter has taken to beating her head against things, imitating her father I suspect, and recently suffered a minor head injury? Does anyone have any suggestions ?
Signed,

The Sufferee
