I know it's tough to see Denise suffer, and I know it makes your life hell, too. I would even go so far as to assume that you would take the pain if you could. No wise words will make your situation (or Denise's) any easier. I guess all I can say is try to remember that what you're going through is stressful, and what she's going through is agony. I'm not saying her pain is more important than your life, but for whatever reasons, you're there. Now what? You're pulling the weight for both of you and that sucks. Does it suck worse than a red hot drill through your eyeball? Her pain feeds on your anger. Don't let it feast on you both.
