Mine came so infrequently that I never even went to the doctor until they got more frequent and more painful (although PAIN does not completely cover it). Thank goodness I am not chronic. I have always muddled through my life (kids, work, etc.) during those couple of months a year. I had resigned myself that not much worked. Two years ago oxygen was recommended and wow. What a difference it made! So I know what you are going through. Since I also get migraines I know the difference; migraines also can wreak havoc on my life but there is relief in lying down and now I've tried Imitrex so maybe I've licked those too.
I am really lucky to have found help because I live in an area where there is not that many choices in doctors!
