Food Coloring As A Trigger?

I've had clusters ever since I was 16, and I'm now 30. They are back again this year, but fortunately this time they aren't as horrible as usual.
A question for everyone: Has anyone heard of food coloring, especially in candy, being a cluster trigger? I discovered by accident when my clusters were going full blast this time last year (Halloween season) that candy (like Sweet Tarts, Smarties, lollipops, Skittles, Jolly Ranchers, sour balls, etc.) would really set them off, even though I had them anyway. I haven't seen or heard this mentioned anywhere and I was wondering if anyone else had noticed it. Thanks!
