I can't remember if I've ever had a cycle completely aborted or not with preventative meds. I think that I have with the start-up of a new med, but in all actuality, it may have just diminished it enough where I'm remembering wrong. However, in time, even those meds lost efficacy and I'd need to switch to a new one. That I blame, at least partially, on the fact that all the neuros, GPs, etc ... that I have seen, none told me to stop taking the meds when the cycle breaks. And even though my cycle of 0 CHs is on average just 1 1/2 months, I think that I should have been told not to take the meds during that interval. That probably has a lot to do with the efficacy being lost on me.
Oh. And the funny thing about being prescribed paxil? I told my neuro that I didn't want prozac because I didn't want to be on anti-depressants for the rest of my life. She said "OK" and I didn't discover that paxil was an anti-dep until I was already on it for a few months.
