I have the same problem with the refils. If you
can convince your doctor to increase the
prescribed dose, you can get refils quicker. The
insurance companies decide when you can refil by
counting the days that it takes to use up the
prescribed amount. Doctors would rather you take
the Imitrex (but no more than twice in one day)
than take the opiates. Whether the doctor will
do this depends on the doctor, and who the doctor
works for. Doctors can get kicked out of some
insurance "networks".

There is another route, which may or may not be
feasible in a particular case. That is, you can
pay for the Imitrex. It is, of course, very
expensive. The insurance company doesn't control
when you can get a refil, the doctor does. The
insurance company only controls what they will
pay for.

Not very helpful, probably. I hope your CHs go
back into remission soon.
