the incidence of addiction in families? quite often more than one member of a family presents symptoms of a tendancy to substance abuse, yet how come ALL members in those families don't develop the tendancy to clusters?
I mean, ok...they obviously have the same predisposition to addiction - maybe because of a seratonin imbalance, but how come clusters will usually only affect one of those genetically similar people?
What is it that is pushing that one family member over the cluster line - even when they aren't necessarily the most addictive personality in the family?
This is a cool discussion and I think we would find huge numbers of addictive personalities if we really started digging and got some frank answers. Bob, I really think this seratonin research you are doing is fabulous and you are really on the brink of something big here.
Cheers
Margi
