I've been taking St. Johns Wort for a while now. I thought it would be a great alternative to an antideppressant my doctor wanted to start me on. I found out yesterday from my doctor that St. Johns Wort is a MAO inhibitor. Now I have to stop taking the St. Johns and I can't take my verapamil for two weeks until the ST.Johns is out of my system. I had no idea St. Johns Wort fell into this category of MAO inhibitors but thought I'd post this in case anyone else didn't know.
