Carl--there are several maladies which can cause
your fingers to feel as you described-so don't get
too upset til you find out the reason for yours'
doing this.

Could be carpul tunnel syndrome or Guyon's canal
syndrome (both of which are compressed nerves
in the hand or wrist and usually caused
from repetative action). What fingers are
involved? That will tell what nerves in the neck
might be involved. if that is the site of origin.

Could be arthritis. I've lived with this since age
27. Sometimes I don't feel it for a couple of years
at a time. I wake up at night and have to wake the hand up. Sometimes it hurts all the way up to the elbow. Then I have to sleep with it hanging
off the side of the bed, lower than my body. Or when I'm on the phone with my hand up to my
ear. If my hands are below my waist, they usually stay awake.

There are many things that this could be from so
don't self-diagnose. It is important that you
find the cause ASAP because the longer
you wait, the more permenant the damage can be, if it is a nerve problem.
