This is precisely the reason I've never tried Imitrex. I've taken cafergot for many years. At the end of a cycle I always refill my perscription so I'll have it on hand for the next cluster. When it starts, I immediatly start with the cafergot. When I see the doc they say I have to get off the cafergot for 24 hrs. before I can start Imitrex. By then there's no way I'm gonna go even one day without mediction so I wind up staying with the cafergot.
To the original post a comment: the side effects of sansert are much more dangerous than verapamil. Next cluster if you can start with the verap and it works you'll be much better off.
