Mike posted about this below, I'm starting a new thread to keep it at top of list for a bit

we just got the next year's "service" update from our insurance (federal BC/BS coverage, administered by BC/BS of Maine, which was just bought out by some outfit from out west somewhere called "Anthem")

I noticed they have ADDED a LIMIT on "certain migraine pain relief medicines", without specifying the exact meds (don't ya love it when they give you the 100 page fine print booklets, and they STILL don't tell it to you straight !)
and the limitation was pretty severe -
referred to specific(small) number of doses per month

I suspect this is an attempt to cut down the imitrex expense, but don't know for sure
I don't use imitrex (as yet) so haven't checked further, but will see what i can find out

this is the same outfit that lists "oxygen" as a covered at home care item BUT
when I went to get it in fall of 98, they denied it at first saying "but not oxygen for that, it isn't on our list" within 6 weeks I had them agreeing to the O2,

so if you are in the imitrex limit bind, it is worth arguing with them - their standards are written for migraine I believe - with enough pressure perhaps they can be loosened up re: CH
