Genetic link

Been quite a spell since I last wrote anything of consequence on the "board". But I did come across some very interesting news concerning the possibilities of heredity. I was always skeptical of the genetic link because no one in my family came forward to say they also had clusters. It has long been a known fact that my maternal grandfather suffered from terrible headaches, so bad that they frightened my mothers sisters, but no one seemed to know much about them. Over Christmas my mother's oldest sister told me that when he would get them, it would be in the middle of the night and he would sit with his hand over his eye and rock while his eye would droop and tear. That is definitely Horner's syndrom and that is almost definitely a cluster. Apparently he suffered with them for most of his adult life. Out of 12 children and countless grand children and great grand children, I seem to be the only other one with clusters. A coincidence, possibly, but considering the rarity of the condition I would say that this adds to the evidence of heredity. Good luck with the new year all. I'm sure it will bring much in the understanding of our disease. Peace

Joe Stone
