Although it seemed absolutely ridiculous I began experimenting with water as a treatment 2 weeks ago. I didn't try drinking it all day, I drank about 16 - 32 oz of water at the onset of an attack and it seemed to have the same effect as Imitrex in cutting it short. The other night I had an extremely bad episode - the worst in more than 25 years of suffering - neither water or Imitrex worked. The next day I decided to seriously try try water, no matter how ridiculous it seemed. IT WORKED. From 4:00 PM until I went to bed at 12:30 AM I drank a glass of water every 30 min to 1 hr. Last night was the first night in more than 2 weeks that I didn't have an attack. Maybe it was because I got up every hour to pee but that is sure better than getting up every 1 1/2 hours to scream. Each time I got up I drank another glass of water. I am interested in finding out if any other sufferers have had experience with water and more importantly, finding out why it works. I have always suspected that CH was blood pressure releated since all my triggers may have an effect on BP. Are there any of you out there that are Dr.'s or Physiologists that can explain this? For those of you that have not tried it I urge you to do so. It seems ridiculous but for me it seems to be working.
