I have back pain well it is more shoulder pain sometimes. But I think its from being so tense
durning the cluster. I use to think that laying flat had something to do with me getting the clusters. So I got a recliner to sleep in. It did not help. I had my back, and my neck checked to see if there was something wrong that could cause these things. Oh the money I have spend looking for the reason for these clusters. If they told me sleeping standing up would help I would be caught trying. I have even tried sleeping hanging my head off the bed. It did not work had a stiff neck for days tho.
