I'm not sure if there is a definate connection but since my CH has returned after a five year break I began scratching my head about what I am doing that is different. Five years ago after returning from a vacation and looking at some pictures I decided that I was getting too fat. During the vacation I had almost continuos attacks. I began an excersize program and after a week or so my clusters went away and stayed away until this November. Well, in the last week of August I broke my foot in a racing accident and had been unable to exercize. The clusters returned in mid-November. Went to the Doc - tried Prednisone (no help), Lithium (couldn't stand the effects and it was of minimal help), Feverfew (?), and water (?). I have been using Indirex and Amerge to abort the CH attacks (both work). But, I was still looking for the answer for why they had returned. I began to excersize again last week on a vigerous 30 min/day basis and my attacks have almost completely gone away. I have now gone 4 nights without one. I have still been getting a twinge at about 8:00PM every night but the Amerge kills it. I have noticed that I am not sleeping deeply, very dreamy; maybe I am not getting into the REM stage for some reason. The Amerge or the Feverfew may be causing it but for sure the dreamy sleep is so much better than the CH 1 1/2 hour alarm clock. I am curious if anybody else has had experience with exercize and it's effect.
