I know, duh, who doesn't know that.

I can get a bad one asleep or awake.
They get intertwined with my dreams, and I can't
wake up in time to get the meds early.
I get stupid with a headache anyway, add in sleep
grogginess and it is like fighting through some
strange fog to get to reality.
...and then I wonder....
"Ouch! Oh, My God! Why did I wake up! Ummmmmmm..."
Then calculation time:
"Wonder how long I've had this one?"
"Is it worth wasting drugs on?"
"When did I last take drugs?"
"What time is it?"
"3:00. Damn!"
"When did I last take drugs?"
"Ouch! Who cares! I'm getting up, I'm gettin' up!"

But staying awake is a means to an end, a bad end.
Cumulative sleep deprivation causes some of my worst cycles.
It takes along time to get caught up, about a week.

By the same token, too much sleep can do the same thing.
But it can be knocked out in a day or two.

Regular sleep cycles are important.
Also I can never sleep late.
When I open my eyes the first time, time to get up.
Otherwise I'm flirtin' with disaster.
