I've read your message and know exactly what you are going through. I have had daily cluster headaches for almost 8 years. I have taken every medication known to man. I have had 2 microvascular decompressions & a glycerol rhizotomy in an attempt to cure these monsters. Unfortunately, nothing worked. I have been to so many doctors that I have lost track & there aren't many out there who know too much about CH. I found a wonderful pain clinic with a doctor who truly cares. In addition to acupuncture, he has started me on methadone for the pain. It has been used as a pain treatment for cancer patients for quite some time. For me, the methadone has been the first thing that has given me some of my life back. Enough so that it takes away that "wanting to suck on a shotgun" feeling. It has not cured my headaches but at least I can function until they do find a cure. Believe me, I still get the unbearable headaches but they aren't daily occurrences anymore like they used to be. Please try to find a doctor who will do this for you & don't ever give up!! I am praying for you!! Keep in touch!
