By now most of you know I use extreme heat to soothe a CH attack. Hot water is great. Whether the sinuses are involved or not I do not know, but asthma sufferers have taught me that breathing steam to open up the nose and head can be very helpful.
I just put a pan of water on the stove to boil. You have to be very careful not to get scalded, but it is possible to breathe steam very cautiously. It opens my nose, plus the warmth is definitely beneficial to me.
I cannot bring myself to snort water into my nose.
That feels too much like I imagine drowning to be.
However, if you turn on the shower as hot as it will go and let the room get really steamy (don't get in the shower, of course), you can get much the same effect as when you immerse yourself in the water.
