Have posted a couple of similar messages elsewhere, but was suggested I should also try here. Have had clusters for just over a year now. Latest episode is four months so far, but seems to be passing. This is only my fourth episode, and by far the worst. Others were over in 3-6 weeks. Have seen lots more doctors, and taken lots more meds this time. several times in the last few months I have just completely quit taking any pain meds for fear i was hurting more than helping. Somewhere along the way between the meds and the pain I lost a lot of weight that I really didn't have to lose. My doctors are telling me this is not common and keep looking for some additional cause to explain the weight loss. I am so sick of tests I could scream. Was just in the hospital for four days so they could feed me IV, and run tests. While there they managed to totally forget about my little headache problem. (the nurses, not so much the dr.s)Could not get any meds for an hour after I requested, as you know, that's too late. Anyway I digress. Has anyone else had this problem? It has been explained to me that my weight loss is now life-threatening, and has got to be stopped. Now that I am aware, I am trying to eat, but I've never been much of an eater and it's even worse now. about the only thing that even sounds good is fruit, hard to gain weight that way. My husband is trying to make me eat ice cream, cheesecake, etc. but just can't. Would like to hear from others who may have the same problem, at least we'll know it's not all in my head so to speak.Doesn't seem that unlikely that someone experiencing nearly non-stop pain for four months would lose weight, but would appreciate any comments. thanks
