Sorry to hear that you are having a difficult time. Yes, clusters are "unusual" in women. I have heard this from Mayo and Diamond HA clinic. If you are chronic, like I am, its rarer. This board attests that women DO have clusters unfortunately.
You said that your doc prescribed Verapamil and Elavil. These can prove quite effective. Also, the Maxalt, a new triptan, can prove to be a great abortive. Maxalt is very similar to the Imitrex that many of us utilize. Sounds like a good start. Like many of us, try to obtain a script for 100% oxygen.
