First let me say that I use to think along the lines of the possibilities of pollutants being the triggers,In Naples there is often the strongest smell of what I have determined to be methaine gas produced by the landfill(Dump), We also just had a bad seasonal Pleague of the dreaded "Red Tide", Red Tide produces a toxic gas that affects me just like "Tear Gas" did when in Viet Nam. I use to drive a old Oil burning Car that smoked like a chimmney and I know for sure that exposure to pesticides increases the frequency of my attacks. However, I get them when I'm breathing botteled air while scuba-diving, Or 100 miles out in the Gulf Sailing. I've had so many attacks that I have come to the conclusion that there are too many triggering possibilities to even list. I can draw no Parrallel to eating any specific foods, or doing any specific actions short of thinking about the headache, I can almost trigger them at will and this makes for a very difficult reality--If I even begin thinking that I am having a shadow? Boom- Headache- My problem is to control the sub-concious enough to not think on a subliminal level about the next attack.
Pretty weird but I've had 32 years to think about it! At this stage of the game I guess the Clonidine will be falling by the wayside like all the other failed attempts and once again the Reality that I have to live with this forever has recurred. Use to leave me very depressed, the answer is to have very low expectations of the new meds and when and if they do work """It's a Miracle"" and if it doesn't then at least I don't have to pay $180.00 an hour for the Shrink to help me through the depression! Pretty Cynical I know but, at least it will get me some replys I hope!
