Sorry to hear you're a new member to our "club". I've had these things for 20 yrs and I can tell they're going away by a gradual decrease in severity and duration of each attack. It usually takes mine 2-3 weeks to subside completely. However, as you'll notice from the messages, cluster characteristics can vary from person to person.
Have you asked your MD about Imitrex injections. They're the only thing I've ever tried that could consistently stop a headache in its tracks. I tried prednisone, but it only worked on the heavy dose days and produced some mild side effects.
