This message board is fantastic! It's been a great help to me.
I'm in my first episode of cluster headaches. I'm a 34 year old male and live in Scotland.
The bout started 11 weeks ago. Fortunately I was diagnosed fairly quickly and was prescribed a 10 day course of Prednisone which very quickly took my severe headaches away.
Unfortunately since then(about 7 weeks now) I have continued to get consistent shadow attacks (around 5 per day). They are really beginning to get me down.
I have recently been prescribed Verapamil and have just started my 2nd week. Have seen no noticable impact so far.
Can anyone tell me how you know when the bout is coming to an end. Does it just stop one day or do attacks gradually decrease in intensity/ frequency.
