these are just my pattern details- there are many variations within the diagnosis of CH, but keep an eye out, maybe be similar to yours

early warning of impending cluster:
I rarely/never get "sick" (cold, flu, etc) BUT my wife has confirmed that in the RARE occasions I do develop a moderate flu-like malaise, a cluster series is usually not too far behind
cause ? coincidence? correlation ?

predictor of cluster end:
though my clusters vary in length and the intensity of the attacks , they stick pretty close to the following pattern:

start up gradually, steadily increasing in frequency & severity of attacks

then a sustained period full frequency & severity

just before the cluster stops, the frequency & severity of the attacks gets very erratic - skip a day, then a bad day, etc for a period that is short compared to the cluster in which it is occurring - I have come to look for this erratic period, because the end is then VERY close

finally, they don't taper off gradually (as they begin)
they just stop suddenly

hope something helps, good luck
gary
