I read an article from a website a co-worker printed for me recently. It talked about levels of Seratonin in CH sufferers. Seratonin, to my understanding, corresponds with a lot of depression type disorders. If there is some correlation, it could explain why I didn't get a single cluster while I was on Wellbutrin last year. During my last cluster, my boyfriend told me he thought I was depressed. I came close to snapping at him that if he was in the same amount of pain I was in, he would be depressed too. That got me to thinking. When people experience pain, they aren't exactly happy. I know that I was depressed during the 4 1/2 weeks I had them. I talked to my doctor about the possible correlation during the cluster, & he advised it couldn't hurt for me to go back on Wellbutrin. I did & I haven't had a single attack since then, although I have been experiencing some shadow pain. I don't know if I just reached the end of my cluster when I started taking it, or if the Wellbutrin actually had an affect on them. Has anyone out there heard anything about a correlation between depression & CH?? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.
