Have you considered the possibility that you have both? I don't know $hit about migraines, but there are some people here that apparently suffer both.

Duration, as well as photo- and phono- phobia, seem to be fairly good indicators as to 'categorization'. Clusters rarely (note: I didn't say NEVER) last more than 1-2 hours. Don't confuse this with 'shadows' which can and do last for hours.

We used to have a member by the name of Cathy, who has years of experience with both clusters and migraines. I accept her description that it's impossible to 'compare' the pain...clusters are more severe, but shorter. Migraines are 'less painful', but, due to their duration, equally debilitating. She refused (quite correctly, IMHO) to 'compare' the two.

If I came across harsh, I apologize. I truly want each and everyone of us to get an accurate diagnosis, as that is the only hope we have for effective treatment. If you do have migraines, you have marginally more hope than we clusterheads....there are treatments that are effective for SOME migraineurs, but, like CH, apparently none that work for all.

I hope you find something that works for you.
KTSSU,
T
