Bob,
These are truly devastating messages from you and Bernie and Carl, and I'm humbled and crying in the face of them.
You are not alone: so many of us have been where you are right now, and as surely as the sun rises, we'll be there again, but we've got to keep the thought that someday, someone will come up with the cure for these living nightmares -- and if not a cure, then at least a new medication that will ease us through the pain for a few years. We have to believe that.
Meanwhile, my heart goes out to you with the thought that surely, surely with every day we manage to hang on, we're a day closer to some real, lasting medical help.
