Imitrex self-injections work faster than the tabs, from what I've been told. 5-8 minutes in most cases (using a full dose...slightly longer if you use the Imitrex tip on the left).

I can't comment on the vomiting, but I sure would ask my doc if it indicates an allergic reaction, if I were you.

Here's a possibly stupid idea...any chance that the combination of a smelly, bouncing track team bus (former middle distance runner here) and the pain caused the vomiting?

Think back to that day in DETAIL. [Chili dogs with extra sauerkraut for lunch?] Give your doc every bit of info you can remember that might even possibly relate to the vomiting and let him/her make the decision.
