I feel taking 60 mg a day is just as much as a shock on startup as the taper, for me, 5 or 10 mg in the morning every other day works fine for me and you don't have to taper on a dose like this, edema or water build up in the cells is the side effect Jonny is talking about, it's anti-inflamatory nature is just enough in small doses to make the difference between a sore nose and a full blown cluster, the half life on prednesone is close to 48 hours, with me, if it doesn't work after taking 5 mg after an hour, it's not going to work at all, so don't brother taking anymore, your body quickly develops an immunity to prednisone.
