Hi Nick D. & Carl D.,
I have thought about all possibilities over and over. While we have gas/heated water/ baseboards, the unit is in the basement. We have a woodstove but we crack windows and when his headaches started we didn't have a woodstove. His headaches occur for no apparent reason. When he's tired, not tired, has sugar, sugar restricted, at rest, at play, asleep. they wake him up. He says, "it hurts it hurts, don't touch me", I am raising hell to get him in sooner but we live in upstate NY, and are on an HMO so there is only one pediatric neuro within several counties. I am an herbalist but nothing seems to work and then there is trying to get him to take my concoctions. I thought there maybe a homeopathic out there. I have a materia medica but it only indexes the remedy not the symptoms.
I get what I call flashing lights in my eyeball for about 15 mins. and then a horrible dull to throbbing headache for one to two days. I just want to put my head under a pillow. Aleve sometimes helps, but I find that Tylenol & Ibuprophen "give" me headaches, so I suppose there could be a connection.
He has banged his head a couple of times and did this weird thing where, when we picked him up he gasped, threw his head back and did not breath for about 5 seconds. He appeared unconscious. but he came right back and then screamed for a while.
I just don't know. Thanks, Mom
