I had a phone call this evening from Dr Matharu on behalf of Dr Goadsby.

The long and the short of it is my GP has agreed to refer me!!!!!!!!!!

He wasn't happy about it, Dr Matharu said that whilst Dr Goadsby remained tactful and pleasant throughout the long conversation, my GP became unpleasant and obstructive but eventually gave in. He said that he and Dr Goadsby felt I should look for another GP not just for myself but also my family very soon and they want to talk to me about it. I'm not sure if that's becuase of the way my GP reacted or whether he gave them the impression he would strike me/us off or refuse me/us all treatment(I'm asthmatic too). If he's as angry as Dr Matharu implied I'd say it was the former rather than the latter.

But he said he would write the letter, so I'm (finally) on my way!!!!

Dr Matharu said they would probably want to admit me for 2-3 days. Does anyone have any idea what they'll do? I've NEVER had any investigations done, except a blood test last year, so I'm a bit in the dark.

Dr Matharu said if I hadn't heard from them by mid-May I should ring him as that would mean my GP hasn't written as promised. He said a strange thing, I thought. He said that my GP had agreed to refer me, now it was a case of waiting to see if he came up with the goods. Not sure what he meant. He did mention more than once about my GP being extremely angry, unpleasant and coming across as obstructive, so maybe that had something to do with his comment. It came across as both he and Dr Goadsby appeared genuinely concerned about my GP, but didn't say anything as to why.

He said he would like to say my GPs anger wouldnt hav anything to do with me, but he couldnt as he appeared angry with me too.

Anyway, that's the situation to date. If anyone has any idea what they might want to do with me, I'd be greatful for pointers. The only thing I DO know, is that one of the treatments they want to try reacts VERY badly with asthma and they want to try it out but monitor it too.

As to the ideas of what to do with me, I'd like POLITE options only guys!!!! (ROFL)

Now I'm just waiting for the other boot to drop, with regard to my GP!!

Tracy
